The Webmaster
Ellen Zitzlsperger designed and hand coded this website, and is hosting and maintaining it as a gift to the Nebraska Region SCCA.
Ellen is self-taught in website design and began building websites in 1997.
From 1998 to 1999 Ellen volunteered as a Community Leader at GeoCities, where she attained the position of Senior Co-Liaison for GeoCities SouthBeach. During her term as a Senior Co-Liaison she designed, built, was the administrator of, and wrote two advanced HTML courses for a free online university which taught hand coding of websites to beginning through advanced webmasters.
Thousands of students later, coincidentally about the same time that Yahoo! took over GeoCities, Ellen retired from teaching website design, and began giving awards to excellent websites.
From October 1999 to March 2002, Ellen devoted her free time to her website award program which rose from a 4.0 rating to a 5.0 rating with Award Sites (a world recognized award program rating service). The program was retired after it had spent the better part of a year holding the prestigious designation of "World Top Award" from Website Awards.
A continuous member of Nebraska Region since 1977, Ellen's crowning achievement for website design came over a year after she had stopped seeking recognition for her work; and after earning 130 website awards, including three website of the year awards.
This website is by no means the singular achievement of the webmaster, but Ellen considers the receipt of the Woody Dunn Trophy for 2003 to be both an honor to the team of individuals who have dedicated their time to this website, and a personal honor. The Woody Dunn is bestowed upon the person or persons who have, in the opinion of the Board of Governors, made the year's outstanding contribution to Nebraska Region.
Ellen is currently the webmaster for four websites and host to over a dozen domains.
