- Regional Competition Driver

This trophy is awarded annually to the outstanding regionally licensed competition driver.

How the trophy is awarded:
This trophy, and the National Competition Driver trophy, are awarded annually based on the votes of a selection committee.

The selection committee consists of the last three winners* of the national trophy, last three winners* of the George Gunther Memorial Trophy, and a race worker appointed by the Regional Executive.

*The last three individuals who won the award.

About the trophy:
The Outstanding Regional Competition Driver Trophy was originally created in 1975.

In 1994 it became the George Gunther Memorial Trophy. George had been a member of SCCA since April 1956.
