- Top Activity PointsIn 1955, the Region's second year of operation, NRSCCA began honoring the member who earned the most Activity Points each year. The original trophy was named in honor of Joe Mayer, the Region's first Regional Executive.
In 1972 a new trophy was created as a memorial to Dale Flesher who joined the Region in the early 1960s and was an enthusiastic and active member. How the trophy is awarded: |

Dale Flesher was the top activity points winner in 1966 and 1968, prior to his death and the trophy being renamed in his honor.
Activity PointsNebraska Region members are awarded points for participating in the events which are designated at the beginning of the year by the NRSCCA Board of Governors as "Activity Points" events. Points are awarded as follows: Each entrant is given 10 points for participation regardless of how (or if) they finish the event. Then up to 10 additional points are awarded for finishing position (in class): 10 for first, 9 for second, etc. Therefore, the maximum number of points which can be earned for any one event is 20 points. Workers (those not participating in the actual competition) are also awarded 10 participation points. Then up to 10 additional points are given based on the work assignment performed. Event masters are given a total of 20 points (10 + 10) since they are not allowed to compete during the event. Workers at the event (who are not competing) are given an additional 8 points, or a total of 18 points. Road races hosted by the Missouri Valley Race Group (Nebraska Region and Des Moines Valley Region) are currently included in activity points, however, the entire weekend counts as one event and the 20 point per event limit is applied. For road races: competitors, workers, and event chairs are awarded points in the same manner as any other Region event. Chiefs of specialty, however, earn 19 points instead of the usual 18 awarded to workers because of their added responsibilities. In addition to all of the above, 10 participation (but no finishing position) points are given to anyone participating in an SCCA event outside of the Region, if the event falls on the same weekend as a designated points event. This person must provide the pointskeeper with proof of participation, such as a list of results from the event which has been published in the other Region's newsletter. | |||
